Search volume

The estimated number of monthly searches for a keyword in a specific storefront.

Search volume is an estimate of how often a keyword is searched per month, normalized to a 0-100 scale by most ASO tools. Apple and Google don't publish exact numbers — tools derive estimates from sources like Apple Search Ads' impression data and statistical models. A volume of 50+ is considered worth targeting; below 20 is usually a long-tail term where exact rank matters less than discovery. Volume varies wildly by storefront — a high-volume term in the US may be near-zero in Japan.
