Localization

Translating your app metadata, screenshots, and in-app content for non-native-language markets.

Localization includes translating your app name, subtitle/short description, description, keyword field (Apple), screenshot captions, and ideally in-app text. Each storefront supports independent metadata, so you can target Japan-specific keywords distinct from US keywords. Localized listings consistently outperform English-only by 20-50% in non-English markets. The lift is proportional to how much of the listing is localized — translated screenshots alone capture most of the benefit. Machine translation is acceptable for v1; native-speaker review is worth it for top markets.
