Screenshots
The image carousel on your App Store listing — the largest single conversion-rate lever in ASO.
Screenshots are the most-viewed metadata field after your icon. Apple shows up to 10 screenshots; Google shows up to 8. The first 2-3 screenshots above the fold drive ~70% of the install decision. Effective screenshots use bold caption text, high-contrast backgrounds, and lead with the strongest benefit (not a feature tour). Localized screenshots per market routinely lift install conversion 10-20% — translation matters more than visual changes for non-English markets. A/B testing screenshots in Google Play (via Custom Store Listings) is straightforward; Apple requires using Product Page Optimization in App Store Connect.
